Withrow University High School seeks a part‑time Boys Varsity Head Soccer Coach to lead the program in Cincinnati, Ohio. The role requires coaching experience, strong leadership, and a commitment to developing student‑athletes on and off the field.

The coach will design training programs, teach fundamentals and team tactics, ensure safety, and collaborate with the Athletic Director to meet district requirements. Prior coaching success and a PAP/CTC readiness are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Boys Varsity Head Soccer Program.
  • Develop and train student-athletes to play competitive soccer.

  • Create and implement an effective training program.
  • Instruct in fundamental skills, strategies, and fitness.
  • Guide students in values, pride, discipline and self‑confidence.
  • Foster teamwork and sportsmanship; ensure safety.
  • Coordinate with Athletic Director and District as needed.
  • Adhere to coaching requirements and eligibility checks.
  • Maintain proper conduct and uphold program policies.
  • Prepare teams for opponents; manage equipment inventory.

Job Description

Coaching Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Boys Varsity Head Soccer Program.
  • Develop and train student-athletes toplay competitive soccer.
  • Motivate, mentor, and have a passion for develping student-athletes on and off the field.
  • Develop an effective training program.
  • Instruct and guide student-athletes in fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree ofindividualand team success.
  • Instruct and guide student-athletes to lead them to the formulation and enhancement of moral values, pride of accomplishments, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, and self-confidence.
  • Foster teamwork and sportsmanship.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of student-athletes.
  • Cooperate,in a timely manner, with School Athletic Director and the District Athletic Department in regard to requests for pertinent information that might be required periodically.
  • Meetall therequirements mandated by the District Board of Education, The Ohio High School Athletic Assn. (OHSAA) and the Ohio Department of Education (ODE)relative tomandated coaching requirements (Coaches Tool Chest (CTC) Training/Certification and Pupil Activity Permit (PAP).
  • Check the status of academic eligibility for all prospective student-athletes.
  • Follow the District Athletic Department Policies as outlined in the Coaches Handbook and meet all criteria as outlined in the job description.
  • Model the behavior expected of student-athletes including timeliness to practices and games, being positive and enthusiastic, being respectful, and practicing constructive criticism while upholding the disciplines of the program.
  • Maintain a suitable sideline conduct, including the use ofappropriatelanguage, at all times.
  • Recognize the needto beaware of, andimplement, all applicable administrative policies set forth by the District Board of Education, Superintendents of Schools, School Principals, Conference Leagues, ODE, andOHSAA.
  • Provide all applicable in-season training rules as well as any that may apply to out-of-season.
  • Followappropriatedue processprocedureswhen violations occur.
  • Participate in School events (i.e. Pep Assemblies, Awards Night, Athletic Boosters Meeting, etc.
  • Ensure that teams are wellpreparedfor opponents.
  • Maintainaccurateinventory of equipment and supplies.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Fundraising experience.
  • Strong leadership.
  • Must be passionate and dedicated to inspire student-athletes.
  • Previous experience coaching soccer required.
  • Serve as a role model.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills associated with the sport.

Training/Certifications:

  • Ohio Secondary Teaching Certificate preferred.
  • Evidence of successful past coaching experience required.
  • Provide satisfactory result of County Police Records Check, StateBCIICheck, and a Fingerprint Background Check.
  • Possessan OhioDepartment of Education (ODE) Pupil Activity Permit (PAP).
  • Provide satisfactory proof of completion of Coaches Tool Chest (CTC) Training/Certification.

Contract Provisions:

Type of Contract: Supplemental Annual Limited

Salary: Per Schedule E Contract of current C.F.T Labor Agreement
