Job summary

Lincoln County Board of Education seeks an Athletic Coach- Wrestling to guide student-athletes through skill development and competitive participation. The role collaborates with the school administrator to plan in-season practices and coordinate interscholastic meets.

The coach ensures safety of athletes, maintains attendance records and insurance forms, and oversees equipment and uniform needs while enforcing sportsmanship and eligibility standards.

Qualifications

• Valid West Virginia teaching certificate appropriate for assignments.
• Non-professional coaches must have completed NFISC Coaching Principles Course and Sports First Aid Course.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
• Plans and schedules a regular program of practice in season.
• Works closely with the principal/athletic director in scheduling interscholastic contests.
• Recommends purchases of equipment, supplies, and uniforms as appropriate.
• Maintains or provides necessary information for attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork.
• Supervises the safety and well being of the student athlete.
• Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
• Establishes and maintains performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition in his/her sport.
• Coordinates and documents that the student athlete is physically fit to participate (medical doctor examination).
• Enforces discipline and sportsmanship like behavior at all times, and established and oversees penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.

Supplemental-Salary Schedule #19-Days and supplemental pay shall be established per contract by Lincoln County Board of Education
