Coach: Volleyball (Assistant Girls Varsity)

Are you a passionate advocate for youth and athletics? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced volleyball coach for our varsity girls team. You should have solid knowledge of volleyball, be able to develop winning strategies, and be in good physical condition. The role requires decision-making under pressure and exceptional leadership skills. DPCR offers a paid stipend at the successful conclusion of the season.

Essential Skills/Functions
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and implement successful volleyball programs.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Abide by all OHSAA rules and regulations, as well as DPCR character and learning environment standards.
  • Good physical condition and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Core Work

Coaching
  • Use various instructional techniques and multimedia to meet the needs and improve student-athletes' abilities.
  • Manage athletic activities, contests, and practices to promote growth in skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and sportsmanship.
  • Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate students’ athletic abilities regularly.
Student Development
  • Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation.
  • Instruct and advise students on NCAA regulations regarding academic requirements for scholarships and recruiting.
Team Leadership
  • Ensure all coaches work collaboratively and in the best interests of student-athletes.
  • Maintain open communication with stakeholders.
Student Safety & Operations
  • Maintain and file all pertinent materials, including eligibility forms, transfer forms, and grade reports, ensuring compliance with AoC, OHSAA, and DPCR guidelines.
Job Qualifications
  • Successful participation in similar activities in high school and/or college.
  • Minimum of three years of successful coaching experience at middle, high, or college level.
  • Significant knowledge of volleyball mechanics, rules, equipment, and terminology.
  • Valid Ohio Department of Education Pupil Activity Permit.
  • Completion of all required health and safety training and certifications to coach in Ohio.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Student Supervision/Interaction
  • Adhere to the Decree on Child Protection requirements.
  • Complete monthly VIRTUS Child Protection training.
  • Contribute to a community committed to student protection.
