Here's a Summary Of Responsibilities
Within the global parameters of theU.S. ParalympicsNordic SkiingHigh Performance strategy and USOPCParalympicSport Performance priorities, the Coach will exercise principal leadership in the development and implementation of performance-focused year-round training programs for U.S. ParalympicsNordic Skiingprogramsand athletes. TheCoach will lead day-to-day training atvarious sites and,in collaboration with theSeniorDirector,Internally Managed Sportsand otherprogramstaff, lead key programmatic activities. The Coach will promote and support the Olympic and Paralympic movements and contribute to overall planning, sport planning,and implementation ofthe Internally Managed Sports (IMS) teamandUSOPC organizationalpriorities.
Here’s How You ‘ll Have An Impact
- Leadthedevelopment of annual and seasonal training plans and daily workouts for national teamathletes, as well asdevelopment athletes asappropriate.
- Lead in the execution of athletes’ individual training programs and execution of strategies in national team athletes’ Personal Performance Plans.
- Set training courses, assist indevelopingequipment list for each project, andmaintainrelationships with training sites and other partners as relevant.
- Oversee facility and performance service requests and availability with athlete schedules to maximize training and recovery.
- Provide leadership and direction to contract coaches and other program staff.
- Track athlete performances, workout data, sport science data, and annual progress reports and graphs as relevant for the program.
- Contribute to the development of a rolling high-performance plan for the U.S. Paralympics Nordic Skiing Program.
- Provide coaching and support to athletes at team practices, camps, and competitions.
- In collaboration with the Senior Director, plan travel and logistics for theNordic Skiingprogram to competitions, camps, events,and other scheduled activities.
- Establish andmaintain positive working relationships with NGB staff, local Nordic Skiing programs, other local partners, and othersboth internal and external tothe Nordic Skiing community as beneficial to the program.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of Nordic-specific programs within the overall IMS strategy, utilizing available USOPC resources and partnerships with other organizationsas needed.
- Perform other duties assigned.
Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be effective:
- Bachelor’sdegreeOR equivalent experience
- US Ski & Snowboard (USSS) Cross Country Level 100 Coach Certification
- Participation in a USSS or USBA coach education course within the last 2 years
- USBA Coaches License
- Minimum5years of experience coachingbiathlonand/or cross-country skiing
- Minimum3years of supervisory experience, preferably as a head coach leading 2or more coaches
- Professional experience with Paralympic programs desired
- Proven ability to promote sport performance
- Demonstrated leadershipandcollaborationskills,bothwith athletes and staff
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain professional demeanor and contribute to a positive working and training environment

- Hiring pay range: $76,178- $85,000 per year
- This Full-Time, Temporary position is intended to work 40hours per week.
