Summary
The Coach trains coworkers and monitors progress against defined training plans while performing production work to maintain required skill sets.
Responsibilities
- Monitors, tracks, and schedules training with new coworkers.
- Completes training checklists, including recertifications.
- Reviews training progress with trainees and provides weekly feedback; adjusts plans as needed.
- Provides documented training status updates to the production supervisor on a weekly basis.
- Reviews documentation in PFS for accuracy, quality compliance, and updates.
- Works with supervisors and engineers to continuously improve the quality of the production training process.
- Inspects trainee work and samples based on competency, reducing sampling as proficiency grows.
- Cross‑trains coworkers in various manufacturing operations to meet production goals.
- Performs operator duties defined in the job description when not training.
- Leads by example, supporting Benchmark Core Values, policy, and objectives.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of electronics manufacturing experience.
- Minimum of 1 year in a coaching or training role for entry‑to‑mid‑level production positions.
- Completion of the BEI “Train the Trainer” class.
- Possession of a Coach Certification Checklist (or equivalent certification).
- Proficient in reading, understanding, and training others on process instructions, schematic drawings, and manufacturing routings.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent multitasking, organization, and prioritization abilities.
- High attention to detail and ability to work with diverse groups.
- Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment, and professionalism.
- Understanding and use of continuous improvement tools.
- Strong customer service orientation and client focus.
- Working knowledge of productivity tools, including Microsoft Office and WebEx.
- Ability to work overtime and support a 24/7 global operation, including shift and site flexibility.
- Capability to cross‑train in secondary areas as needed.
- Commitment to safety and ability to work in a safety‑sensitive environment (including drug screening requirements).
Working Conditions
This is a safety‑sensitive position. Pre‑employment drug screening (including THC testing) will be required where permitted by law.
Location & Schedule
Winona, MN – West (4245). Shift: Shift 2 – Monday to Thursday, 15:50 to 01:35.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $17.83 to $23.74 USD per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Benefits include a Bonus Plan, 401(k), Paid Time Off, and Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance, all based on scheduled hours.
