Job summary

The Post Oak School in Houston, Texas is seeking a part-time High School Volleyball Coach. Reporting to the Athletic Director, you will plan, organize and deliver volleyball skills, tactics and drills to student athletes and help them realize their potential.

Responsibilities include organizing practices and games, attending events, coordinating travel, maintaining safety, and serving as a mentor and role model to the student athletes; CPR/AED certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year institution preferred.
  • Coaching experience in volleyball with relevant age group.
  • Availability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
  • CPR/AED Certification preferred.

  • Organize practices and games.
  • Arrive on time to all scheduled athletic events.
  • Maintain relationships, build trust, and act as a mentor & guide to student athletes.
  • Be a team player and demonstrate positive leadership to promote a positive team attitude.
  • Ensure appropriate safety measures are observed and practiced.
  • Actively participates in practices and competitions.
  • Drive the activity bus transporting student athletes to and from away games.
  • Travel with the team to practices, games and tournaments.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Attend all staff meetings and training sessions as requested or required.
  • Serve as a role model and demonstrate how to be an effective team player and coach.

Hours:

Part-Time Schedule:

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays: 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Game schedules are determined by the league.
  • Working hours for this position include attendance at all volleyball season practices, competitions, and tournaments, as required by the program schedule.
Salary:

$40/hour

Summary

Under the direction of The Post Oak Athletic Director this position is responsible for helping Post Oak student athletes realize their potential in a sporting discipline through the provision of instruction, advice and encouragement by planning, organizing and delivering relevant skills, tactics, techniques and drills for individual athletes and teams in volleyball.

Job Duties
  • Plan, organize and deliver relevant volleyball skills, tactics, techniques and drills to Post Oak students.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution preferred.
  • Continued education in specific sport.
  • Coaching experience in volleyball with relevant age group.
  • Possess adequate knowledge to effectively coach.
  • Have strong oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the Post Oak Community.
  • Availability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
  • CPR/AED Certification preferred.
