Job summary

KidStrong Elmwood Park is seeking a motivated KidStrong Coach to deliver our science-based curriculum for children from walking age through 11 years. You will lead fun, structured classes and work closely with families to support growth in brainpower, physical skills and character.

The role requires high energy, reliability, and a passion for mentoring teammates. CPR certification is preferred; opportunities include both full-time and part-time shifts and participation in center events.

Qualifications

• Loves working with children and families.
• Experience coaching children from walking age to 11 years is preferred.
• Excellent communication with parents/guardians.
• Energetic, engaging presence and reliability.
• Willingness to obtain CPR certification if not already certified.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fun, dynamic classes that boost brainpower, physical skills, and character for kids up to 11 years old.
• Ensure classes run smoothly and on time; arrive early for each shift.
• Coach classes, camps, parties, and parent nights out as needed; attend offsite events when requested.
• Engage families before, during, and after class to build positive relationships.

Job Title: KidStrong Coach

Center: KidStrong Elmwood Park

Reports To: General Manager / Assistant General Manager

Compensation Range: $18 - $20 per hour

If so, KidStrong wants you to join our team as a KidStrong Coach! As a Coach, you'll play a crucial role in delivering our dynamic curriculum and making a positive impact on the lives of children and their families.

What You'll Do

• Coach Like a Pro: Deliver fun, dynamic classes that boost brainpower, physical skills, and character for kids walking to 11 years old (KS is introducing SOON a new class group for babies, so you must be comfortable with babies who aren't yet walking as well!)
• Master of Curriculum: Understand the magic behind KidStrong's programs and communicate it with flair.
• Be the Best: Achieve Coach Certification and keep leveling up your skills like you're in a video game with our stellar training programs.
• Family Friend: Create positive interactions with families before, during, and after class -- you're the reason they love KidStrong!
• Class Commander: Ensure classes run smoothly and on time, every time. No tardy bells here! (This means you are always a few minutes early for each shift and ready to ROCK each shift. We do NOT permit tardiness!)
• Family Connector: Keep families engaged and excited about KidStrong. Think of yourself as the social glue that keeps everyone together.
• Master of all: Coach class, camps, parties, parents night out events, attend offsite events and anything else your center leaders might ask for!

Center Operations

• Event Enthusiast: Assist in community events and center initiatives. Party planner meets motivational speaker.
• Clean & Green: Participate in the upkeep and maintenance of our awesome center. Cleanliness is next to awesomeness!

• Passion for Kids: Non-negotiable. You must love working with children.
• Coaching Background: Experience with kids aged walking - 11 years old (babies is a plus!). If you've coached a herd of cats, you're overqualified and also why did you do that? :-)
• Communication Whiz: Comfortably speak to parents and guardians. Channel your inner Oprah.
• Energetic & Fun: Bring high energy and a clear, engaging presence to every class.
• Mentorship Magic: Be a mentor to other coaches, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• CPR Certified: Or Willingness to get it. Safety First!
