Job summary

Summary

Directs and oversees coaching duties for organized video gaming program, also known as esports program. Directs and coordinates all aspects of recruitment and training for Esports competition and program competitions.

Essential Functions

  • Directs all aspects, areas, and components of the esports team. Coordinates all strategic aspects of the esports program.
  • Organizes, prepares, and conducts individual and team practices, training, and competition.
  • Recruits student-athletes through scouting and attending events.
  • Represents sports program to various institutional programs and externally as appropriate.
  • Oversees audio and visual equipment usage; assists users with set-up and operation of equipment.
  • Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand or sit. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The employee must be able to lift 25 pounds.

Conditions and Environment

The individual who holds this position will regularly work in a school environment that is noisy and active. Occasionally the individual will be required to work outdoors for short periods of time to perform such tasks as loading and unloading students from district transportation and supervising recess.
