Job summary

The Heritage Community is a Utah-based program overseeing Elevate Academy, a residential treatment setting for adolescents. Elevate Academy Coaches provide supervised support and mentoring to guide the students in therapy-informed progression and daily task application.

We seek individuals who demonstrate engagement, attunement, and passion to excel, with a focus on trauma-informed care, safety, and collaborative teamwork with the Treatment Team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 20 years of age or older to apply.
• Physical ability to provide interventions, such as safety holds.
• A valid Driver's License, with no more than one traffic violation in the past three years to transport students using company vehicles.
• Proficiency and fluency in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing English.
• The Heritage Community is a smoke and vape free work place.

Responsibilities

• Develop close, personal, and emotionally supportive relationships with the students to coach them in their treatment progression.
• Implement treatment plans and ensure a healthy, safe, caregiving environment; participate in activities to help students develop skills (e.g., sports, biking, skiing, etc.).
• Use mediation and intervention techniques to redirect students during escalated moments.
• Transport students to and from off-campus appointments and activities using company vehicles.

Job description

Elevate Academy is a co‑ed, residential treatment program for adolescents, specializing in trauma, mood disorders, adoption and attachment issues, and similar diagnoses. Students in Elevate Academy have faced adverse experiences that have negatively impacted their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing. We strive to build our students' confidence and resiliency, and then empower them to build on those foundations to take charge of a thriving future!

Elevate Academy Coaches work directly with our students, as they provide supervised support and mentoring to guide the students in a forward, therapeutic progression. They assist the students to learn how to self‑regulate and implement the tools they learn in therapy during daily activities. We will hire a candidate who demonstrates engagement skills, who can be an attuned caregiver, and shows passion and vision to excel!

Schedule

• Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
• Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday 2:30 pm -10:00 pm
• Will also include a Sunday rotation, working one Sunday every four weeks, 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM.

• Demonstrated ability to successfully coach and mentor adolescents.
• Assertiveness to learn and continually enhance knowledge and understanding of neurodiversity and mental health.
• Good energy and ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Engaging and empathetic character, with a balance of tenacity and determination.
• Good problem‑solving, decisiveness, and teamwork skills.
• Proficient in communication and interpersonal relationship skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop close, personal, and emotionally supportive relationships with the students to coach them in their treatment progression.
• Implement clinical treatment plans as outlined by the Treatment Team.bEnsure that a healthy, comfortable, safe, and caregiving environment is maintained. Participate in a wide variety of activities with the students, encouraging and supporting them to develop the skills associated with the tasks (i.e., sports, bike riding, skiing, rock climbing, hiking, swimming, etc.).
• Properly use a variety of mediation and intervention techniques to redirect students who need support and guidance during escalated moments.
• Transport the students to and from off‑campus appointments and activities using company vehicles.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 20 years of age or older to apply.
• Physical ability to provide interventions, such as safety holds.
• A valid Driver's License, and no more than one traffic violation on a driving record in the past three years to be approved to transport students using company vehicles.
• Proficiency and fluency in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing English.
