Job summary

Tucson Unified School District in Tucson, AZ is seeking a certified coach to promote sportsmanship and supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and travel. The role emphasizes safety, welfare, and respectful conduct with players, parents, staff, officials, and spectators.

The position requires NFHS coaching and concussion certificates, health and wellness training, CPR/First Aid, immunization proof, and a current Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Qualifications

• NFHS coaching and safety certificates are required for employment.
• Concussion, health & wellness and CPR/First Aid certificates must be current.
• Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card is required prior to start.
• Immunization proof against measles and rubella is required.

Responsibilities

• Promote sportsmanship and foster good character in student-athletes.
• Provide for the safety and welfare of all participants during practices and events.
• Supervise students in practice areas, locker rooms, buses, and during the season.
• Communicate with players, parents, staff, officials, and spectators with professionalism.

Summary

Promote sportsmanship and foster good character in student-athletes. Provide for the safety and welfare of all participants. Supervise students in practice areas, locker rooms, busses, and at all times during the season. Exercise patience, tolerance, and diplomacy in relations with all players, parents, co-workers, contest officials, and spectators. Interscholastic activities are an extension of the classroom and as such, your actions, behavior, and interactions with our student-athletes should be reflective of this.

Requirements Prior To Start Date

• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

Winter - November into February

Half stipend

STIPEND to be prorated for days missed in the sports season due to late starts or early terminations.

This position is temporary and not eligible for district benefits.
