Job summary

Essentia Health's ophthalmology clinic in Fargo, ND is seeking a certified or non-certified ophthalmic assistant to join the South University Clinic team. The role supports ophthalmologists and optometrists in providing eye care with a standard daytime schedule (7:45 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday).

No weekend, holiday, or on-call rotations are required. Experience in ophthalmology or optometry, or as a clinic care tech, PCT, nursing assistant, or similar role is a good fit for this

Qualifications

• No educational requirements.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Non-certified: JCAHPO certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant required within 1 year of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality eye care to patients of all ages as defined by ambulatory care nursing philosophy.
• Performs tests and procedures and assists ophthalmologists or optometrists in providing quality eye care.
