Job summary

The Jewish Preschool of Lexington is seeking an energetic early childhood educator to join a warm, community‑minded school. You will contribute to a play‑based curriculum, nurture young children’s social, emotional, and cognitive growth, and share daily classroom responsibilities to maintain a clean, organized environment.

Qualifications

• EEC Teacher certification required or willingness to obtain it.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Previous experience working with toddlers or in early childhood education preferred.
• Strong understanding of child development and positive guidance strategies.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work closely with a co‑teacher.
• Warm, patient, and engaging approach with children and families.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with your co‑teacher to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate, play‑based curriculum.
• Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development in a nurturing environment.
• Share responsibility for daily classroom operations, including setup, cleaning, and organization.
• Provide attentive care, including diapering and maintaining hygiene standards.
• Foster a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Maintain clear communication and contribute to a positive, team‑oriented culture.

Schedule

Monday – Thursday 9 am to 5 pm, Fridays 9 am to 3 pm or Monday through Friday 9 am to 3 pm.
