Legacy Treatment Services in Hainesport, NJ, is seeking a full-time Crisis Intervention Specialist for ARRIVE Together. Responsibilities include responding with police to crisis calls and completing level of care assessments, with shift differentials noted for certain hours.

Responsibilities

• During shift hours, is primarily responsible for responding to crisis in the community from designated police departments based on program schedule (either via ride‑along or meeting police on scene) to complete a level of care assessment as part of the ARRIVE initiative.
• When not responding to active crisis calls, staff will work with police to complete follow ups from calls that police have responded to outside of shift hours for those with mental health concerns.
• Daily tasks include: Assessment, referral, linkage, hotline coverage, crisis stabilization, development of alternative treatment plans, consultation, providing technical assistance to other clinical staff, consultation with psychiatrist, supervision and monitoring of patients, screening of patients as per the NJ State Screening Law.
• Responsible for creating and maintaining positive professional relationships with police.
• Must be a self‑starter and consistently maintain a high level of initiative and productivity to meet the department’s goals and objectives.
• Must possess excellent time management and organization skills.
• Decision skills must be precise, with the ability to problem solve, negotiate, multi‑task and connect Consumers safely to the most appropriate, least restrictive treatment environment, per the screening evaluation.
• Must be able to interpret and exercise the New Jersey Screening Law.
• Required to report to work in inclement weather.
• May also be asked by the Director to participate in special projects as needed.

Program Overview

Legacy operates the State‑designated Screening and Crisis Intervention Program for Burlington County, providing evaluations 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to individuals experiencing a psychiatric crisis or posing a danger to self, others or property.

We make it our priority to screen and triage individuals in crisis within community settings as opposed to a hospital setting. Our certified screeners and mental health professionals work together to stabilize the crisis and determine the most appropriate, least restrictive treatment option.

Hours

This position pays a $1.00 shift differential for hours worked 3:00 p.m. - 11:p.m. Monday - Friday and a $2.00 shift differential for all hours worked on Saturday, Sunday and all 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. shifts.

This is a Full Time Benefited position with the following benefits:

Qualifications

QualificationsEducation/Experience:

• Must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in mental health related field plus two years’ full‑time equivalent experience post bachelor’s degree. Required to attend NJ Screening School when eligible. Screener eligibility preferred. Expected to attend Screening School when applicable.
• Your driver's license must be in good standing, with no recent suspensions or violations of careless/reckless driving or excessive speeding of more than 10 MPH, and no more than 2 moving violations within the last 3 years.
