Job summary

Behavioral Health Network (BHN) is seeking a Co-Response Clinician to deliver community-based crisis intervention services in Western Massachusetts. The role supports youth and adults in urgent behavioral health needs, meeting clients where they are—homes, shelters, hospitals, or other settings, with onsite work likely in Springfield.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, maintain detailed documentation, and ensure timely shift engagement and eligibility for DMH programs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field (required).
• 1+ years of crisis intervention, mobile crisis or community mental health experience preferred.
• Licensed - LICSW, LCSW or LMHC preferred; obtain licensure within 6 months if not licensed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver community-based crisis intervention services to youth and adults in real-time.
• Assess, stabilize, and support individuals in homes, shelters, hospitals or other settings.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, EMS, providers and support networks.
• Engage with collateral contacts and consult on disposition with on-call supervisor.
• Enter information into state DMH JDP database and complete paperwork by shift end.

Education

You will assess, stabilize, and support individuals in real-time-meeting them where they are: in homes, shelters, hospitals, or other community settings.

What You’ll Do

As a Co-Response Clinician you will deliver community-based crisis intervention services to youth and adults experiencing urgent behavioral health needs. You will assess, stabilize, and support individuals in real-time-meeting them where they are: in homes, shelters, hospitals, or other community settings but will most likely be onsite in Springfield. This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting difference while collaborating with a skilled multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensures timely shift engagement and consistent readiness for mobile dispatch.
• Maintains full understanding and compliance with daily shift expectations.
• Conducts comprehensive, face-to-face, community-based clinical risk and stabilization.
• Works collaboratively with law enforcement, EMS, existing providers, and support networks.
• Engages with collateral contacts and consults with on-call supervisor regarding disposition.
• Enters information into the Department of Mental Health (DMH) Jail Diversion Program (JDP) state database, as appropriate.
• Creates paperwork related to services that is high quality and timely.
• All documentation must be completed by the end of shift on the day of the service.

Who You Are

• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field (required)
• 1+ years of experience working in crisis intervention, mobile crisis or community mental health setting (preferred)
• Licensed - LICSW, LCSW or licensed eligible - LMHC (preferred)
• If not licensed obtain within 6 months of hire
• Ability to conduct rapid clinical assessments and respond calmly in high-stress situations
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required (community-based role)

Shift: 32 hours a week - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 4:00pm-12:30am and Saturday 8am-4:30pm

Pay: $40 per hour #LI-AH1
