Job Purpose

Oversee the Lead Worker and Machine Operator, facilitate laundry and other contractual obligations of the VA Hospital.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations at the program site, maintain production and quality standards.
  • Assign and direct work of team members and staff, set up and break down work areas.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, team members, and customers.
  • Attend all required meetings, supervise staff, evaluate performance, and provide feedback and corrective actions.
  • Complete all Medicaid-required documentation, including daily notes and monthly summaries.
  • Maintain Zoom Group documentation and training requirements.
  • Assist team members in performing their work independently, encourage professional conduct and dress.
  • Aid team members with personal care and medications as needed.
  • Train staff in following directions, reaching goals, and self-advocacy.
  • Ensure laundry processing follows the guidance within the AbilityOne contract and VA policies, including soil and clean side procedures.
  • Assist the Director with updating policies and procedures.
  • Ensure safety compliance, e.g., OSHA standards.
  • Supervise Machine Operators, Lead Workers, and Team Members.
  • Oversee soiled-side and clean-side operations, including machinery operation as needed.
  • Oversee linen inventory, clinic orders, billing, and exceptions reports.
  • Work one Saturday per month for equipment blowdown.
  • Prepare bulk and exchange carts, assist with linen processing, and ensure proper shipping and documentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all work areas, cover linen, and secure equipment at day's end.
Qualifications
  • Three years of laundry experience.
  • CLLM, ALM Laundry Certification.
Working Conditions

The environment includes office, laundry clean, and soil locations, which may be climate-controlled or not. Facilities may be loud, dusty, and linty, with moving equipment such as overhead bags, conveyors, and roller lines.
