Job summary

Hatch is seeking a Co-op Student - Advisory Analyst in Houston, TX for a 4-month summer internship or 4/8/12-month co-op term. You will collect, analyze, and present data to inform client decisions while collaborating with advisory and engineering teams.

You must be adaptable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or in a team, with excellent verbal and written communication. Apply with resume, transcripts, and a one-page cover letter by Oct 9, 2026.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in English, written and verbal.
  • Currently enrolled in an Engineering, Science, Business, Commerce or Economics program at an accredited university (co-op asset), with at least two years completed.
  • Creative problem-solving ability.
  • Good understanding of engineering and/or business fundamentals as they apply to developing business cases.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, including the ability to research, filter, and clearly summarize complex content.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with good interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
  • Prior work terms or co-op experience is considered an asset.
  • Extracurricular involvement is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Deconstructing high-level information to identify the underlying fundamental drivers and aggregating detailed information to inform a holistic understanding
  • Critically evaluating information gathered from multiple sources and reconciling conflicts
  • Developing and/or assisting in the preparation of cost models, financial models or business cases for projects and initiatives, for external clients and within Hatch
  • Proactively communicating and collaborating with team members from within advisory and the engineering business units to analyze information needs and deliver written reports, presentations, and verbal reports, as needed
  • Collating and summarizing information using data collected from existing data sources, document analysis, workshops, surveys, and business process descriptions
  • Preparing cases and scenarios to assist analysts and consultants
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts to analyze tradeoffs between planned objectives and business performance needs
  • Assisting with administrative support, as required
  • Successfully managing multiple initiatives simultaneously

The Advisory business practice is Hatch's management consulting arm that helps clients in the mining, energy and infrastructure sectors solve their toughest business problems. We are entrepreneurs with a technical soul, approaching strategic problems with solutions grounded in deep technical expertise.

Hatch is currently looking for candidates to join the Advisory business practice for a 4-month summer internship or 4/8/12-month co-op term. Successful candidates will assist in consulting engagements by collecting, analyzing, and presenting data to inform business decisions for Hatch’s clients.

The successful candidate must be adaptable, highly self-motivated, have the ability to work both independently as well as in a team environment, and be able to build and maintain strong relationships through excellent verbal and written communication.
