Job summary

Philips Plymouth, MN is offering a co-op opportunity for a Packaging Engineer role starting January 2027. You will support packaging projects across R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing and Operations to ensure timely launches and continuity in a cross-functional setting.

The position targets students pursuing a BS in Packaging Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with a strong interest in medical device packaging and product development.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong interest in medical device packaging and product development with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Basic understanding of packaging design principles and material science.
• You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, testing, troubleshooting, spec creation and validation of medical device packaging to ensure product integrity and safety throughout the supply chain
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and regulatory, to ensure packaging meets all regulatory and quality requirements (FDA, ISO, etc.)
• Strong desire to stay current with industry trends, materials, and technologies to recommend improvements to packaging solutions
