Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an engineering program at university level.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and 5S Principles.
• Experience with CAD and simulation software.
• Lean Green Belt Certification preferred.
• Project experience in manufacturing setting preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, technical drawings, and blueprints.
• Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and sit for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Research the viability of a new program or initiative; compile and present statistics.
• Clean up, edit and update a database.
• Conduct a failure analysis and investigation.
• Evaluate and improve efficiency, streamline programs, or cut costs.
• Perform a study or survey; analyze and present results.
• Compile employee manuals or develop process directions for tasks.
• Conduct a cost benefit analysis to upgrade on a specific material/machine.
• Design tooling or ground support equipment.
• Work on a continuous improvement project resulting in a measurable improvement.
• Carries out other duties as assigned
