Job summary

Bozeman Community Food Co-op is hiring a full-time Kitchen Service Staff member for the CDT Kitchen. Shifts run Monday through Friday with varied start times; the role emphasizes prompt, friendly service and maintaining the cold bar and soup station while following safety guidelines.

No prior kitchen experience is required—willingness to learn is welcomed and training will be provided. You will handle stocking, labeling, temperature checks, and light prep, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Able to work a flexible schedule including mornings, days, evenings, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly service at the cold bar, on the retail floor, and during shifts.
• Maintain sanitation and organization of prep areas, cold bar and soup station.
• Rotate stock, label products, and monitor temperatures per guidelines.
• Receive and stock deliveries with quality checks and proper rotation.
• Assist with food prep for the cold bar and kitchen support as directed.

Job description

A full-time position is available. Shifts are Monday 8am-2:30pm, Tuesday 8am-2:30pm, Wednesday 2:30pm-8:45pm, Thursday 2:30pm-8:45pm, and Friday 2:30pm-8:45pm. Previous kitchen experience is welcomed but not required – if you are willing to learn, we will teach!Purpose: Provide prompt, friendly service; maintain soup station and cold bar; and follow guidelines for safe food handling, rotation, organization, merchandising, and inventory.Specific Responsibilities of CDT Kitchen Service StaffCustomer Service and Department MaintenanceMaintain high-quality products for cold bar and soup station in an efficient, visually appealing, and timely manner.Ensure prompt, friendly customer service at the cold bar, on the retail floor, and elsewhere as needed throughout the shift.Maintain prep areas and all customer-facing areas in a sanitary and orderly condition meeting GCC Health Department standards.Use proper storage, product rotation, and labeling procedures.Document out-of-stock and waste items following department procedures.Monitor and record temperatures at regular intervals.Receive and properly stock deliveries as directed (checking for quality and utilizing proper rotation protocol).Complete food prep as needed for the cold bar and as directed for kitchen support.Maintain working knowledge of food service products.Complete other duties as assigned.Experience that demonstrates the ability or aptitude to successfully meet all expectations listed above required; experience in food service desired.Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business; early morning, daytime, evenings, holidays, and weekend shifts may be required.Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. throughout shift, occasionally 50 lbs.Ability to stand for long periods and to bend and twist repeatedly; ability to lift product overhead and/or to climb ladders with product.
