Position Overview

The Diversion Hub is a comprehensive, one‑stop network dedicated to assisting justice‑involved individuals in Oklahoma City by harnessing the power of multiple support agencies through combined and synchronized services. Our goal is to provide life‑stabilizing resources while empowering individuals to reduce their encounters with the criminal legal system through enhanced support services, including case management, data integration, and coordinated communication under one roof.

The Diversion Hub CO‑OP Coordinator will provide oversight and manage the communications and dynamics of the COOP team; oversee client data; ensure COOP team members adhere to identified functions, philosophy, and performance standards; remain informed regarding budgetary concerns of COOP and coordinate services from each discipline and the local community, in a manner that is most optimal for public safety as well as therapeutic to the COOP Consumer. The Coordinator is supervised in a cooperative approach by the District Attorney and Public Defender and is to maintain strict neutrality with regard to all aspects of the program.

Responsibilities
  • Creates and keeps a shared, running database of all referrals, participants and former participants. Updates the database daily as to the compliance of each participant. Works closely with team members to track referrals, track participant compliance and help the court process.
  • Functions as a member of the COOP team by discussing consumers, contributing ideas, and recommending actions, and committing themselves to the program mission and goals; and works as a full partner to ensure success.
  • Aids the Court in the processing of referrals and participants.
  • Works closely with the Assistant District Attorney to oversee participant compliance.
  • Works closely with the Assistant Public Defender to track referrals.
  • Schedules meetings conducive to the schedule of each COOP team member.
  • Schedules regular meetings and creates a written document of all agreed upon terms of the program structure.
  • Collaborates to prepare a written program mission, goals and objectives, and written philosophy.
  • Revisits program mission, goals and objectives with team to assure their efficacy and application.
  • Maintains the budget.
  • Will seek out training opportunities and other similar programs to create a best practice standard.
  • Acts as the contact point between the community and the court to ensure program effectiveness and success.
  • Informs community partners of expectations of the COOP program.
  • Drafts and implements memorandum of understanding for community partners on the COOP team and updates as needed.
  • Seeks and schedules opportunities to educate the public on the COOP program.
  • Identifies and recommends potential new team members to ensure competent team members and a successful program.
  • Identifies training opportunities for the COOP team and ensures team members attend all mandatory training prior to functioning as a team member.
  • Recommends competent and informed treatment providers to ensure appropriate treatment.
  • Creates an open dialog with treatment providers.
  • Monitors treatment and ancillary services to ensure and maintain best practices.
  • Creates interagency linkages to address client’s ancillary needs in the areas of medical, housing, employment, and vocational skills planning.
  • Promotes COOP philosophy and value by educating employers, housing providers, and other agencies associated with participants on the requirements of COOP.
  • Provides information and promotes COOP to employers, housing providers, and other agencies on the value of working with participants from the COOP program.
  • Develops and coordinates the community steering committee.
  • Develops partnerships with local mental health and recovery community.
  • Develops and coordinates a mentorship program.
  • Promotes COOP programs and builds alliances with community stakeholders; promotes alternative sentencing philosophies; works with participants and families with mental health issues; identifies available resources and varied services to treat participants in a timely and meaningful manner; operates the COOP program within statewide parameters; and schedules multiple individuals to participate in the COOP team.
  • Works with team members from treatment, community supervision, and law enforcement to create standards for program compliance.
  • Collaborates to create written roles and informs team members of expectations of their role on the COOP team.
  • Provides orientation to new team members.
  • Gathers information needed to keep team members informed of participants and expectations.
  • Helps to promote a productive work environment where each team member can participate openly.
  • Works closely with the Judge, District Attorney, and Public Defender to ensure policies are followed, participants’ needs are addressed, and program standards are met.
  • Works in conjunction with the Strategic Director and other team members to prepare financial reports and summaries to inform team members of financial status.
  • Day‑to‑day oversight and leadership of the COOP team decisions to ensure adherence to COOP philosophy.
  • Scheduling and facilitating the COOP team meetings.
  • Working with Treatment Court Strategic Director to help in locating available community funding.
  • Recommending team members, treatment providers, and potential participants.
  • Providing community information and presentation materials used to promote COOP philosophy and development.
  • Creation and/or development of statewide COOP program standards, policies, rules, and training and overall COOP strategy for the state.
  • Maintain daily contact with judge, prosecutor, defense counsel, participants, community treatment providers and facilities, community organizations, court services officer, and court staff to ask and answer questions pertinent to COOP; and frequent contact with the statewide ODMHSAS Liaison to share information and data and seek technical assistance and guidance.
  • Attend all staff development, trainings and meetings as required.
  • Any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job.
Qualifications
Education and Experience

1 to 3+ years of experience in social work, communication, criminal justice, political science, or similar human service area.

Additional Job Requirements
  • Clearance of background.
  • Must have own transportation to work site, valid driver’s license, and insurance on motor vehicle in accordance with state law and agency requirements.
Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate

  • Knowledge of mental illness (e.g., addiction, alcoholism, and pharmacology and effective treatment techniques).
  • Presentation techniques and tools.

  • Community resources that offer mental health treatment and counseling (e.g., community resources that offer substance abuse treatment and counseling).
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; prepare written documents and reports (e.g., organize large spreadsheet and keep up with each participant’s progress; communicate same to team in a timely manner).
  • Be able to interact with persons of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds in a manner that demonstrates sensitivity toward cultural differences and respect for everyone.
  • Possess maturity and judgment consistent with the high level of responsibility.
  • Demonstrate capacity for teaching adults and older adults.
  • Experience working with clients experiencing acute mental health.
  • Experience working with clients living with substance use disorders.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in position requirements.
  • Proven ability to meet multiple deadlines and balance numerous projects while maintaining a perspective on long‑term goals.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit over long periods of time and be able to talk, hear, sit, stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl climb stairs, lift and or move items of up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Must have excellent command of English language and grammar, both verbal and written. Must be able to manually operate and use a computer. Must be able to clearly hear and understand telephone conversations.
