Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking a Dual Disorder Specialist to provide specialized care for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. The role includes assessments, treatment planning, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery and integrated care.

The position emphasizes evidence-based interventions (CBT, MI), documentation, and compliance with standards. The schedule is Monday–Friday with on-call rotation, and a comprehensive benefits package

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Human Services with 1 year of practical experience in substance abuse treatment.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with 3 years of paid practical experience.
Knowledge of harm reduction strategies preferred
Valid driver license
Ability to drive an organization vehicle
Act 33/34/73 Clearances (Criminal/Child/FBI Department of Human Services)
Pre-Employment Drug Screen

Responsibilities

Assess clients to identify co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
Develop individualized treatment plans addressing both mental health and substance use needs.
Deliver therapeutic interventions (CBT, MI, relapse prevention).
Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and case managers.
Educate clients and families about co-occurring disorders and treatment options.
Maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with regulations and confidentiality.
