North American Montessori Teachers' Association (NAMTA) seeks a certified Lower Elementary Montessori Guide or Montessori-trained Assistant Teacher for a Co-Lead or Assistant role serving 1st–3rd year students (ages 6–9). This school-year position emphasizes collaboration, thoughtful planning, and social-emotional growth within a team-based setting.

Qualifications

• Certified Lower Elementary Montessori Guide or Montessori-trained Assistant Teacher.
• Experience designing and maintaining a Montessori environment for ages 6–9.
• Ability to design individual and small-group lessons integrating Practical Life, Grace and Courtesy, and Cosmic Education.
• Experience observing students to guide materials and foster independence.
• Comfort with school-designated software for recording student progress and behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a co-teacher to design and maintain an orderly Montessori environment.
• Plan and implement individual and small-group lessons aligned to Montessori curriculum.
• Work with the co-teacher to set goals and support student growth.
• Present lessons per Montessori pedagogy and principles.
• Foster a joyful, inclusive learning atmosphere and support the whole child.
• Observe students to identify interests and readiness for appropriate materials.
• Maintain records of student work, progress, and observations in school software.
• Chaperone off-site field trips and participate in Outdoor Classroom activities.
