Job description

Role Description

You’ll own Kairos’s entire technology stack—leading AI research, system architecture, device integration, and a growing engineering team. You’ll drive down LLM hallucinations, build our voice-AI pipeline, and leverage Llama 3 to deliver reliable, real-time intelligence across home, mobile, and embedded devices.

Responsibilities

• Architect and evolve our core AI engine (LLMs, RAG, embeddings) with a focus on hallucination mitigation
• Design and optimize voice-AI systems: ASR, TTS, NLU, and dialogue management
• Lead Llama 3 model fine-tuning, evaluation, and deployment workflows
• Define end-to-end tech strategy: cloud services, edge/IoT integration (Kairos Core & Nodes), mobile clients
• Build, mentor, and scale a cross-functional engineering team (AI, backend, full-stack, embedded)
• Collaborate with product and UX to turn complex AI into seamless, human-centric experiences
• Own CI/CD, security, and privacy-first deployments—no paid third-party AI services in production

Must-Have Qualifications

• 3+ years shipping production AI/ML systems, including hands-on hallucination reduction techniques
• Deep experience building and optimizing voice-AI pipelines (ASR, TTS, NLU)
• Proven track record fine-tuning and deploying Llama 3 or equivalent open-source LLMs
• Demonstrated leadership: hiring, mentoring, and managing engineering teams of 5+
• Full-stack development skills (backend APIs, frontend frameworks) a strong plus
• Startup founder mindset: bias for action, high ownership, comfortable wearing many hats

Nice-to-Haves

• Embedded/IoT or mobile-client development experience
• Real-time, low-latency inference or on-device ML
• Open-source contributions or published AI/ML research

This is an equity-only founding role in a $100 B+ market (voice assistants, ambient computing, wearables). If Kairos wins, so do you. Founder-level equity, full cap-table transparency, and real exit potential.
