Job summary

Groundworks in the United States is seeking a Co-Foreman to step up from skilled Installer to jobsite leader. You will work with an experienced Foreman to learn how to lead crews, manage daily operations, and uphold safety and customer satisfaction standards.

Hands-on leadership training, a certification program, and a clear path to advancement are provided. As a Co-Foreman, you will coordinate tasks based on priorities and workforce availability, assist with progress monitoring, and ensure

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience leading crews or small teams is required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform strenuous labor as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Foreman in leading a high-performance crew serving customers in a local market.
  • Review job specifications to determine materials, tools, and equipment needed for reporting to the job site.
  • Assess job conditions on-site and set plans based on time, tools, and order of work; assign duties to the crew.
  • Install products and services with support from a national team of trained professionals.
  • Provide customers with superior quality and service while on site.
  • Aid in planning, scheduling, and coordinating work, accounting for labor hours and productivity.
  • Communicate with customers before, during, and after completion of the job regarding changes.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and check-in/check-out procedures as needed.

The Co-Foreman coordinates tasks and assignments based on work priority, schedules, objectives, and workforce availability. The Co-Foreman assists with monitoring the progress of a project and keeping it on track from a time and budgetary standpoint.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssists Foreman with leading a high-performance team serving customers in a local market/areaReviews job specifications to determine materials, tools, and equipment needed prior to reporting to job siteAssess conditions of the job once on-site; set forth plans based on time allotment, tools needed, and order of work – assign duties to your crew for work to be performedInstall products and services with support of a national team of trained professionalsInnovate and troubleshoot situations as needed based on requirements to complete the job to meet company standards and timetablesProvide customers with superior quality and service while onsite performing workEnsure all final documentation is done completely/accurately and is given to the proper partiesSafely, correctly, and efficiently loads and unloads materials, tools, and equipment, and cleans truckSafely, correctly, and efficiently performs installation duties according to instructions, methods, standards and timetables provided by the Foreman and CompanyDrives company vehicles in a safe manner and meets all requirements to operate a company vehicle.Assists in planning, scheduling, and coordinating work, accounting for labor hours and productivityAssists in supervising, leading and mentoring a crew of two or more people; leads crew in absence of ForemanCommunicates with customer before, during and after completion of job, addressing any changes in the job prior to implementing changesCompletes necessary paperwork, check-in and check-out procedures, as neededKnowledge of trade specific tools for installations and correct use and care of equipmentAbility to Lift heavy objects up to 22 kg, and walks and stand for long periods of timePerforms strenuous labor often under adverse conditionsFoster a positive team environment by building strong relationships and inspiring mutual trust, professionalism, integrity, and respect.Adhere to and promote Company workplace policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, the policies related to safety and against bullying, harassment, violence or discrimination in the workplace.Uphold the Company’s positive image and reputation in the community.It is an essential function of this job that the employee regularly and reliably reports to work on time each working day.Perform other duties as necessary or assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience requiredStrong communication skills, ability to motivate, and be a team playerExperience leading crews or small teams requiredPrevious experience working in the construction or home services industry and/or trade work or general labor requiredBasic construction or mechanical knowledgeMust have a valid, non-restrictive driver’s licenseEnters crawl spaces and other confined areasWorking ConditionsThe position lifts heavy objects and/or up to 50 lbs., walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor.The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively lifts and carries heavy loads.The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand and arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
