Rutgers University, through the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology, announces a part-time Clinical Supervisor opening for the Tourette Syndrome Clinic (TS Clinic). The supervisor will oversee programming and provide supervision and training to doctoral students in assessment and treatment.

Qualifications

  • Licensed as a Practicing Psychologist in New Jersey with at least two years of experience.
  • Experience supervising psychotherapy and/or assessment.
  • Experience treating Tourette’s Syndrome or related childhood disorders preferred.
  • Knowledge of CBT approaches for Tourette's and related disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1 hour of individual and 1 hour of group supervision weekly.
  • Deliver weekly didactic training related to Tourette Syndrome treatments.
  • Coordinate with NJCTS and CPS leadership; arrange guest speakers as appropriate.
  • Report to the Director of the Center for Psychological Services and participate in regular meetings.

Posting Summary

The Center for Psychological Services at the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology ( GSAPP ) announces an opening for Clinical Supervisors to lead the Tourette Syndrome Clinic (TS Clinic). The Clinical Supervisor will be involved in direct oversight of programming and provide supervision and training to doctoral students in assessment and/or treatment. The TS Clinic Supervisor will also work with/serve as a liaison to the New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome and Associated Disorders ( NJCTS ) and other community partners as needed. The TS Clinic Supervisor will provide 1 hour of individual and 1 hour of group supervision, each weekly on Thursdays for doctoral-level students placed in the specialty clinic. In addition to supervision, it is expected the Supervisor will provide weekly didactic training related to the treatment of Tourette Syndrome and related disorders. They will create the schedule of didactics and arrange for guest speakers, if desired or appropriate. This position will report to the Director of the Center for Psychological Services at GSAPP and will have a standing biweekly or monthly meeting with the Director of CPS , as needed.

Minimum Education and Experience

Clients in this clinic are predominantly youth with Tourette Syndrome or subclinical issues such as vocal and motor tics, with comorbid anxiety and other impulse control features. As such, some level of knowledge of CBT approaches to caring for these individuals is required.

Certifications/Licenses

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Licensed as a Practicing Psychologist in New Jersey. Licensed for two or more years. Experience providing and/or supervising psychotherapy and/or assessment. Experience providing treatment for Tourette’s Syndrome using cognitive-behavioral approaches, and/or experience treating other related childhood disorders such as anxiety or impulse-control disorders is preferred.
