Shift Primarily Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 p.m. (40 hours/week); some nights and weekend hours required based on department operational needs.

Job Summary The University of Kentucky, Center for Support and Intervention is currently seeking a Case Manager who will be responsible for providing case management services to address the needs of students who need additional resource support to improve their well-being, safety and overall personal and academic success. This position will report to the Center for Support and Intervention Assistant Director. Primary responsibilities for this position include providing direct, caring support to students through an assessment of needs, connection to resources on and off-campus, and support in accessing and navigating resources and services. This position is responsible for case creation, outreach to and engagement of students, and all case documentation tasks for an assigned caseload of students. The Case Manager will facilitate a variety of interventions, referrals and follow-up services appropriate to identified student needs. This position requires collaboration and consultation with UK Faculty, health care providers, colleagues across the Office for Student Success, parents, and other UK Staff. This position involves engagement with campus partners through education and outreach efforts, participation on divisional committees and in collaborative initiatives. The Case Manager will also be a part of the team responsible for maintaining 218-YouK operations and services. Student Success will, from the time of early college outreach to graduation and beyond, support students in living a life of meaning and purpose. From a student-centered framework, our practice will be grounded in peer-reviewed literature, national best practices, and data-informed decision making. Collaborating with the campus and community, Student Success will work through a holistic lens to support a community of learners in achieving success.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The ideal candidate will have experience; providing case management services, either in a higher education or community based setting; knowledge of issues or difficulties facing student populations with lower retention rates; knowledge of college student mental health and campus and community resources; experience responding to individuals with complex support needs and facing barriers to services; ability to respond compassionately to a variety of student needs and concerns; excellent interpersonal, decision making and verbal and written communication skills; strong attention to detail and planning and organizational skills; ability to demonstrate independent judgement regarding student issues. We are seeking a collaborative team player with high emotional intelligence. Experience with MS Windows, MS Office (Word, PowerPoint) and database management skills.

Preferred Education/Experience Masters degree in Social Work, Higher Education, Student Affairs or related human services field. 2-3 years of experience in related field.
