Job summary

Montgomery-Public-Schools is seeking a Child Nutrition Program Associate (Worker) to join the school nutrition team in Selma, AL. The role supports breakfast and lunch service, food preparation, and sanitation in compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining food storage, serving line setup, and ensuring health and sanitation across dining areas while lifting up to 40 lbs and standing for extended periods. Reports to the Child Nutrition Program Manager/School Principal.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid food handler's card/ServSafe certification.
• Good physical health.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food, maintains food storage, and sets up the serving line for breakfast and lunch meals.
• Cleans the furnishings (counters, equipment, tables, etc) in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Washes cooking utensils, dishes, and equipment for sanitation.
• Mops, strips, and waxes the floor in the cafeteria area.
• Removes garbage from the kitchen and dining area.
• Capability of lifting heavy objects (up to 40 lbs.) and transferring extremely hot pans.
• Capability of standing for long periods of time in the kitchen environment during food preparation.
• Performs other duties as required.

POSITION TITLE: Child Nutrition Program Associate (Worker)

REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Program Manager/School Principal

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent and valid food handler's card/ServSafe certification, and good physical health.

SALARY: To be determined commensurate with local salary schedule, credentials, and experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Maintains high standards of control for quality food production and service.
2. Follows operational procedures for efficient and effective food production and service,
3. Maintains an environment conducive to protecting the health and well-being of the school's children through high levels of food safety and sanitation standards.
4. Maintains quality standards for the preparation, presentation and service of food in a pleasant environment.
5. Maintains integrity and accountability of the school nutrition program through compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
6. Ensures compliance with school/district policies and procedures.
7. Exercise proper use and care of all equipment.
8. Performs all duties and responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner.

1. Communicates effectively with CNP associates, CNP manager, CNP director, and other school employees.
2. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
