Job summary

Research Innovations, Inc. (RII) is seeking a Security Researcher to join our Cyber security team in the United States. The role focuses on building offense-grade software for defense and homeland security customers, requiring an active Top Secret/SCI clearance or ability to upgrade.

You will develop CNO capabilities across multiple layers and travel as needed. The position emphasizes deep reverse engineering, embedded system work, and modernizing legacy tooling.

Qualifications

• Experience programming in C and Python.
• Experience developing CNO or exploit capabilities.
• Embedded or firmware development on resource-constrained systems.
• Experience Windows applications (Visual Studio/.NET).
• Experience UNIX applications (make files/build env).
• Familiarity with Git, Subversion, CVS.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Bamboo).
• Experience debugging/troubleshooting tools and techniques.
• Software Analysis/Reverse Engineering experience.
• Comfort writing assembly or mixed C/ASM when needed.

Responsibilities

• Build offense-grade software for denied, constrained environments.
• Design, implement and debug CNO capabilities across userland/kernel/network.
• Tear down and re-engineer legacy tooling for performance and maintainability.
• Develop software for Windows, Linux/Unix, embedded, mobile, and network devices.
• Perform deep binary analysis and reverse engineering across architectures.
• Own reproducible build systems, toolchains, and test harnesses.
• Work close to the metal: compilers, loaders, memory, runtime behavior.
• Travel as determined by the customer.
