Job summary

Certarus Ltd. is seeking a Compression Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNG compression assets, both permanent and portable. The role involves regional travel between compression hubs, with day and night shifts and a 14 days on / 7 days off schedule.

The technician will troubleshoot electrical, PLC, and instrumentation issues, assist in commissioning, and maintain CMMS records. Strong communication and a safety-first mindset are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

Minimum 3–5 years field service gas compressor experience.
Natural gas compression knowledge recommended.
Waukesha VGF and Ariel systems familiarity is a plus.
Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNG compression assets.
Inspect parts to dimension changes using calipers, micrometers, etc.
Troubleshoot failures at component level and perform broad electrical/PLC instrumentation troubleshooting.
Commission new and end-of-service inspections of compression assets.
Maintain CMMS data and support maintenance program development.
Maintain equipment housekeeping and inventory of spares.
