Job summary

Sterling St James LLC is seeking an experienced CNC Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) Operator in a precision manufacturing setting. You will operate CNC VTLs, monitor quality, and ensure parts meet customer specifications while maintaining safe practices across shifts.

The role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools. Strong English communication and teamwork are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• 2 years CNC Operator experience, preferably on VTLs.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Manufacturing or aerospace machining experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, work orders, travelers, and technical documentation.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs) safely and efficiently.
• Maintain quality control throughout machining process.
• Inspect and measure in-process and finished parts.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
• Report equipment malfunctions or production concerns promptly to supervisor.
• Follow SOPs, quality standards and safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with team across shifts.
