Job summary

Nemco Food Equipment, LTD. is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC vertical mills in a production environment. You will load parts manually, verify dimensions with precision tools, and produce quality parts according to drawings and specifications.

Candidates should have machining experience, especially with CNC mills, and a strong focus on quality and efficiency. Excellent hand–eye coordination and adherence to safety and workflow are required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC vertical mills.
• Load parts manually and ensure proper handling.

• Study drawings and specifications to determine tolerances and setup requirements.
• Identify and report machine malfunctions and quality issues to supervision.
• Communicate with supervision, engineers, and shop staff to resolve problems.

Nemco Food Equipment is committed to the manufacturing and on-time delivery of these piece parts to the assembly operations with a very experienced staff of metalworkers who can operate a variety of work centers able to machine steel and aluminum into complex parts. In this job, you will work in a production environment, working with CNC vertical mills. After an initial training period, productivity and quality requirements must be met. Durations of set-ups and run times will vary. Tasks require an exceptional degree of eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity, and the use of both hands and arms on a repetitive basis for a full range of motion. Machining experience is a must.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Setting up and operating CNC vertical mills.

Detail oriented and possess strong time management skills.

Produce quality parts.

Load parts manually.

Verifies dimensions of machined workpiece with such measuring instrument as micrometers, telescoping gauges, vernier calipers, plug gauges and dial indicators.

Studies and interprets drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and set-up requirements.

Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine, within capabilities, controls or control media as required to ensure quality of production.

Reports all machine malfunctions to immediate supervisor.

Communicates with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality and other shop employees for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.

Relevant Work Experience:

Experience as a machine operator in a production environment is preferred.

Work Schedule:

• Monday- Thursday (4:58 am - 3:30 pm; 10-hour shift) Subject to Change

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Standing: Most tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
Lifting: Frequently lifting items weighing 5 lbs. to 10 lbs.; occasionally lifting items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Walking: Frequent walking short distances (less than 1/8 mile).
Carrying: Occasional carrying of bulky items weighing up to 50 lbs. short distances.
Pushing: Use of manual hand truck and carts to occasionally move skids or parts short distances.
Pulling: Use of manual hand truck and carts to occasionally move skids or parts short distances.
Bending: Occasional bending required to perform a variety of tasks.
Reaching: Frequent reaching to load and unload parts from fixture in machine, tubs, carts, or pallets.
Handling: Frequent handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 10 lbs.
Gripping: Frequent gripping of parts.
