PHD Machining is seeking an experienced CNC Vertical Mill Machinist to join our Santa Clara team. You will set up and operate 3-axis and 5-axis milling machines to produce high-precision components in a fast-paced shop.

The ideal candidate has strong setup skills, reads blueprints, and can verify program accuracy while maintaining tight tolerances. You will work with engineering to optimize setups and ensure quality.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CNC milling experience.
• Experience with 3-axis and 5-axis machines.
• Ability to perform complete machine setups.
• Strong GD&T and blueprint reading skills.
• Familiarity with Haas or Fanuc controls.
• Proficient with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers).

Responsibilities

• Setup and operate CNC vertical milling machines (3-axis and 5-axis).
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Load tools, set offsets, and verify program accuracy.
• Perform first article inspections and in-process quality checks.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust programs/offsets as needed.
• Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
• Work with engineering and programming teams to optimize setups.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow safety procedures.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling machines, including both 3-axis and 5-axis equipment. This role requires strong setup skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-precision components in a fast-paced machining environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setup and operate CNC vertical milling machines (3-axis and 5-axis)
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
• Load tools, set offsets, and verify program accuracy
• Perform first article inspections and in-process quality checks
