Job summary

Siemens Energy in Charlotte, NC is seeking a skilled CNC Vertical Boring Mill Machinist to support the GT Compressor manufacturing team. You will set up and operate CNC vertical boring mills, read blueprints, and perform precision machining to exact tolerances.

This full-time role requires 3+ years of experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to obtain Siemens Energy certifications. The Fri–Sun 5:30am–6pm shift offers competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; preferred technical training in machining.
• 3+ years of experience operating CNC machining equipment, preferably vertical boring mills.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings.
• Must be able to obtain Siemens Energy equipment certifications ( forklift and crane as required).
• Must be able to read/write English; Work Keys/Silver status preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Vertical Boring Mills, install tooling and establish machine parameters.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, work instructions, tooling sheets, and machining programs.
• Perform in-process inspections and adjust tooling or machines to maintain tolerances.
• Load/unload and position workpieces with cranes, forklifts, and safety procedures.
• Complete production documentation, downtime records, and quality checks.
• Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor machine issues to sustain workflow.
