Job summary

SAPA Transmission Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Tooling Specialist to provide hands-on technical support for machining and assembly operations on DoD-related projects.

You will collaborate with Process Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Production, Quality, and Maintenance to troubleshoot tooling and implement changes that improve safety, quality, and productivity on the shop floor. The ideal candidate holds an associate degree in a technical field and 3–5 years of manufacturing experience,

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field; equivalent manufacturing experience may be considered.
• 3-5 years of manufacturing experience supporting machining, assembly, production, tooling, maintenance, or process-related activities.
• Reading engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Experience with precision measuring equipment and inspection tools.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support daily manufacturing operations across machining and assembly.
• Troubleshoot production, tooling, fixtures, equipment, automation, and quality issues.
• Assist Process and Manufacturing Engineers with improvements and changes.
• Assist setup and startup of CNC machines, tooling, fixtures, and processes.
• Support trials, process validations, equipment qualifications, and process implementations.
• Collect and analyze scrap, downtime, throughput, cycle times, and equipment performance data.
• Contribute to root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Conduct process audits for compliance with standards and procedures.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support objectives.
• Document and sustain standardized manufacturing processes.
• Maintain work instructions, setup sheets, SOPs, process flows, and tooling records.
• Provide technical support to production personnel on processes and tooling.
