Job summary

Cullerton Group is seeking an Applications Engineer - CNC Tool Grinding in Illinois to drive customer demonstrations, optimize grinding processes, and support field service. You will select grinding wheels, develop dressing strategies, and improve cycle times to meet exacting tolerances.

You’ll train customers, review drawings, and provide technical feedback to engineering and R&D while installing machines at customer sites and assisting with programming.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on CNC grinding experience.
• Tool and cutter grinding experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of grinding wheels, dressing, coolants, and workholding.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
• Technical degree or equivalent hands-on trade experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run customer demonstrations and test grinding.
• Develop and optimize CNC grinding processes.
• Select grinding wheels and develop dressing strategies.
• Improve cycle times and surface finishes.
• Install CNC grinding machines at customer locations.
• Train customers on machine operation and programming.
• Troubleshoot application issues and support field service.
• Provide technical feedback to engineering and R&D.
