CNC Team Lead

Dubuque, IA

1st shift | Monday – Friday | 5a – 1:30p

The CNC Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily CNC machining operations, supporting production schedules, leading and mentoring machinists and operators, and ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency standards are met. This hands‑on leadership role combines machine setup, troubleshooting, process improvement, and team development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support CNC machinists and machine operators on assigned shifts
• Perform machine setups, tool changes, programming adjustments, and troubleshooting
• Ensure production schedules and quality standards are achieved
• Train and mentor team members on machining best practices and safety procedures
• Review drawings, specifications, and work instructions to ensure accurate production
• Monitor machine performance and recommend process improvements
• Coordinate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment
• Assist with preventive maintenance and equipment care

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CNC machining experience required
• Previous leadership, lead, or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of CNC mills, lathes, tooling, and machining processes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience with troubleshooting machining and quality issues
• Strong communication and team leadership skills
