Job Summary

Responsible for generating CNC programs through the use of CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) software including process sheets and Operations Packages. This individual must be capable of designing work holding fixtures. Maintains established manufacturing standards and practices. Assignments are complex. Provides input for the decision making process as it relates to the development of manufacturing processes and procedures.

Job Model

On‑Site positions will require employees to work on‑site for each of their scheduled shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Apply creative engineering principals and theories.
  • Review and recommend changes to materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Acts as liaison between production, planning, quality assurance, manufacturing and engineering personnel.
  • Assists other programmers with the proper application of machining cycles and processes as required.
Complexity of Duties
  • Works under general direction. Must be capable of working independently.
  • Must interact effectively with and meet the demands of both internal and external customers.
  • Must analyze a problem and recommend appropriate actions and bring to resolution.
Essential Skills
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting and editing G Code programs.
  • Experienced in the operation of at least one type of CAM software system to create programs for the following types of machines: 2 axis lathes, 3 axis Mills, 4 axis Mills, 5 axis Mills.
  • Basic knowledge of proper application of high speed machining techniques used in milling.
Education and Experience
  • Associates degree in Manufacturing Technology or equivalent in technical experience.
  • Minimum of 4‑6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 4 years CAM programming experience or equivalent.
Other Skills and Abilities
  • Strong communication skills required both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under frequently changing priorities and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to solve practical and moderately complex problems.
  • Ability to be flexible in uncertain or unpredictable situations.
  • Ability to use sound and logical thinking in choosing a particular course of action.
  • Knowledge of parametric (Fanuc Macro B) programming language helpful.
