Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC Mazak lathes to P&F standards and customer specs.
• Read and follow travelers and manufacturing documentation.
• Program a machine on and offline; edit and retain programs.
• Create, complete and save setups for in-process inspections.
• Review setup sheets and collaborate with Level I/II machinists.
• Make offsets with minimal supervision and identify non-conforming product.
• Perform visual inspection and GD&T inspection with various gauges.
• Operate CMM and interpret reports for process changes.
• Help develop process documentation to meet QMS requirements.
• Assist in tooling selection, establish feed/speeds, and build fixtures.

Are you a CNC Swiss Machinist II, who specializes in looking for a family founded company that invests in technology (equipment & software) for customers in the Aerospace, Medical Device, Automotive, Semiconductor, Computer, and general manufacturing industries.

P&F Machining, Inc., in Otsego, Minnesota is seeking CNC Lathe Machinist II, for our first shift, that will produce product using CNC Mazak lathes to P&F standards and customer specifications. Second Shift:

• Monday through Thursday, 3:00 pm to 3:00 am
• Shift Differential
• One Week Additional PTO

Essential Functions:

• Operate forklift.
• Comply with all safety rules and regulations.
• Comply to all quality policies and goals.
• Able to read and follow job travelers and other manufacturing documentation.
• Program a machine both on and offline.
• Effectively edit and retain programs with no supervision and in accordance with P&F procedures.
• Effectively create, complete, perform and save setups needed for in-process inspection verifications.
• Review and approve setup sheets for Level I and II machinists.
• Make offsets with no supervision.
• Ensure segregation, identification and reporting of non-confirming product.
• Perform visual inspection of parts and materials using unaided eye and magnification.
• Perform GD&T inspection of parts using a variety of mechanical gages.
• Ability to operate CMM and interpret CMM reports to identify required process changes
• Help create process documentation to ensure QMS requirements.
• Aid in the selection of tooling.
• Establish feed and speeds.
• Design and build of work holding and fixtures.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement efforts related to productivity and quality.
• Creates manufacturing processes for difficult and complex products.
• Produce prototype products to P&F and customer expectations with little or no process documentation.
• Provide subject matter support to Sales, Engineering and Quality functions.
• Develop skills and competencies of Level I, II and III machinists.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform other tasks as directed by supervisor.
• All essential functions must be performed in an efficient manner.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Advanced understanding of GD&T.
• Subject matter expert understanding of machining methodologies.
• Generate and follow documented procedures and standards.
• Interpret feature of size requirements on blueprints.
• Supervise the operation of CMM and other automated inspection equipment.
• Effective user of ERP system and Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to keep accurate records.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and accurately perform duties in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements.
• Must demonstrate problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Education:

High school diploma required.
