JOB SUMMARY

Prince Industries is seeking a CNC Machinist for our Swiss Department.

Opportunities for overtime are available.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Operate production machinery according to print specifications.
  2. Perform tasks using established guidelines with limited judgment.
  3. Visually and dimensionally inspect production parts for defects and report findings.
  4. Verify workpiece conformance using measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and go-no-go gauges.
  5. Apply statistical process control techniques.
  6. Follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions.
  7. Read blueprints for dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  8. Interpret the Job Traveler for workpiece count, job rate, and operation sequence.
  9. Adhere to Prince Industries quality certifications (ISO, QS).
  10. Perform machine operation duties independently, including startup, tooling adjustments, tooling replacement, safety checks, and preventive maintenance.
  11. Secure tooling and instruments as per documentation.
  12. Complete related paperwork such as tags, inspection documents, and production logs.
  13. Maintain a clean work environment by cleaning spills and grease spots.
  14. Manage the quality, protection, and storage of finished products.
  15. Identify tooling needs for safe and efficient operation.
  16. Use basic inspection equipment proficiently.
  17. Perform simple machine setups and adjustments as needed.
  18. Transport finished materials to designated areas.
  19. Maintain production rates and report discrepancies.
  20. Monitor machine operation for malfunctions.
  21. Position and secure workpieces properly.
  22. Maintain good housekeeping in the work area.
  23. Work under direct supervision.
  24. Follow all safety procedures and use required PPE.
  25. Perform additional duties as assigned, including department transfers if necessary.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  1. Ability to interpret safety rules, instructions, and manuals.
  2. Effective communication with supervisors and co-workers.
  3. Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions.
  4. Intermediate shop math skills, including fractions, percentages, etc.
  5. Basic computer skills for data inquiry and input.
  6. Knowledge of standard production practices.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. Previous CNC machining experience, apprenticeship, or formal training.
  3. 1-3 years of related CNC operation experience.

COMPENSATION

Hourly pay ranges from $23 to $28, with additional shift differentials.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Stand and reach for 8-10 hours.
  • Talk and hear regularly.

  • Lift, push, or pull up to 15 pounds regularly; up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Require close vision (20/20 or corrected).
  • Expose to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, hot parts, sparks, gases.
  • Environmental noise is loud; hearing protection required.
