Job summary

MedFab Precision Solutions in Lakeville, MN is seeking a Swiss Department Supervisor to lead our Swiss CNC operations. You’ll program, plan, and supervise the team responsible for complex Swiss-turned parts, ensuring on-time delivery and conformance to ISO 13485, ISO 9001, and AS9100 requirements.

The role calls for hands-on experience with Esprit CAM (or GibbsCAM/Mastercam), strong tooling know-how, reading GD&T, and a track record of coaching machinists.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on Swiss-type CNC experience.
• Strong Esprit CAM (or GibbsCAM/Mastercam) programming skills.
• Experience with Citizen Swiss machines preferred.
• Proven leadership, scheduling, or training machinists.
• Tooling knowledge and materials common to medical/aerospace parts.
• Ability to read GD&T and use precision inspection tools.
• ISO 13485/9001/AS9100 experience is a plus.
• Strong communicator and organized under pressure.

Swiss Department Supervisor – CNC Swiss Programmer/Machinist

Every part we make follows a quality management system that keeps us compliant with ISO 13485, ISO 9001, and AS9100. We’re looking for an experienced Swiss turning professional to run our Swiss department. You’ll program, plan, and lead the team that keeps our Swiss machines running and our parts in spec.

The role

The Swiss Department Supervisor owns the Swiss department from start to finish: programming, tooling strategy, job flow, and the people running the machines. You’ll report to the Engineering Manager and work closely with engineering, quality, and production to deliver high-precision parts on time.

What you’ll do

• Program complex Swiss-turned parts using Esprit CAM (GibbsCAM or Mastercam experience also considered)
• Manage the flow of all jobs through the Swiss department, including scheduling, prioritizing with the sales team, and keeping work moving to hit delivery dates
• Lead, supervise, and support the machinists running our Swiss CNC machines
• Train new and current Swiss machinists on setup, operation, programming, and best practices
• Decide on tooling strategies, including tool selection and process approaches that improve cycle time, tool life, and part quality
• Handle complex setups, prove out new programs, and troubleshoot machining problems
• Work with Engineering and Quality on new part introductions, process improvements, and documentation that meets our ISO 13485, ISO 9001, and AS9100 requirements
• Look for ways to improve efficiency, reduce scrap, and increase machine uptime

What we’re looking for

• [5+] years of hands-on Swiss-type CNC experience, including setup, operation, and programming
• Strong programming skills in Esprit CAM (preferred), GibbsCAM, or Mastercam
• Experience with Citizen Swiss machines strongly preferred
• Proven experience leading, scheduling, or training machinists
• Deep knowledge of tooling, cutting strategies, and materials common to medical and aerospace parts (stainless, titanium, cobalt chrome, plastics)
• Able to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T
• Comfortable with precision measuring and inspection equipment
• Experience working under an ISO 13485, ISO 9001, or AS9100 quality system is a plus
• Strong communicator who can solve problems and stay organized under pressure
