Job summary

Qualdoc is seeking a CNC Structural Steel Machine Operator in York, PA to set up and run CNC machines for beams, columns, and other steel components. You'll read blueprints, verify dimensions, and perform coping, cutting, drilling, and programmed operations on structural steel parts.

The role requires 2+ years of CNC experience, safety-minded attention, and the ability to work with overhead cranes and forklifts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of CNC machine operation experience.
• CNC coping or beam line experience strongly preferred.
• Background in structural steel fabrication preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and structural steel shop drawings.
• Experience with CNC machine setup, tooling changes, and basic troubleshooting.
• Comfortable using tape measures, calipers, squares, and other precision measuring tools.
• Experience working around overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and operate CNC machines used for structural steel processing.
• Process beams, columns, channels, and other steel components through coping, cutting, drilling, and programmed operations.
• Review blueprints, shop drawings, and dimensions before and during production.
• Move and position steel materials using overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Check completed parts with tape measures, calipers, squares, and other measuring equipment.
• Change tooling and make basic machine adjustments as needed.
• Troubleshoot basic CNC equipment issues and perform routine machine maintenance.
• Monitor work for accuracy and help maintain production schedules.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow established safety and quality procedures.
