Qualdoc in Richmond, VA is seeking a CNC Steel Processing Machine Operator to run automated equipment used to cut and drill structural steel. This contract-to-hire role requires mechanical aptitude, blueprint reading, accurate measurements, and safe handling of heavy materials in a fast-paced production setting.

You will set up and operate CNC plasma cutters, beam drill lines, and angle lines, read blueprints, and use cranes and rigging to move beams.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of CNC machine operation experience.
• Ability to read and interpret structural steel blueprints and shop drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring tools, including calipers, squares, and tape measures.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred.
• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsabilités

• Read structural steel blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders.
• Use overhead cranes and rigging equipment to load, position, and secure steel beams, plates, and other materials.
• Monitor machine operation and adjust settings to maintain accuracy and product quality.
• Measure finished components using tape measures, calipers, squares, and other precision measuring tools.
• Make basic programming edits and adjust machine settings for different material sizes and thicknesses.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot basic machine issues.
• Follow OSHA and shop safety procedures and keep the work area clean and organized.

CNC Steel Processing Machine Operator

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

Shifts: 1st and 2nd Shift Available

Starting Pay: $24.00/hour, with potential for higher pay based on experience. 2nd shift includes an additional $3.00/hour differential.

Job Overview

Compensation & Schedule

• Starting base pay of $24.00/hour; higher pay may be available depending on experience.

• Additional $3.00/hour shift differential for 2nd shift.

• 1st and 2nd shift opportunities available.

• Contract-to-hire employment.
