New Castle Metal in Hicksville, NY, is seeking a Sheet Metal Technician to fabricate light gauge architectural sheet metal components using CNC folding and shearing machines. The role requires precision, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work with diverse metals in a team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating computerized metal folding and shearing equipment.
• Solder and work with various metals with precision.
• Mechanically inclined with a strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Strong customer service mindset and ability to communicate effectively.
• Basic mathematical skills; ability to take accurate measurements and read technical drawings is a plus.
• Previous experience in the architectural, construction, or design industry preferred.
• Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
• Forklift certification is a plus; training is available.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Program and operate CNC folding and shearing machines to fabricate light gauge architectural sheet metal components.
• Solder and work with various metals with precision and care.
• Maintain and monitor equipment to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff to unload deliveries and manage material handling using a forklift.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace at all times.
• Flexibly support additional tasks and duties as needed to meet team goals.
