Job summary

Staff Management | SMX is seeking a skilled CNC Technician in Geneva, IL to support machining operations by setting up tooling for lathes, machining centers, and CNC equipment. You will ensure high-quality production through accurate machine setup, troubleshooting, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

The position features 1st shift, M-F 6:30 am-3:00 pm, with a pay rate of $27/hour and comprehensive benefits including Medical/Dental, 401k, and Paid Time Off.

Qualifications

• Pre-hire math and mechanical aptitude test completed.
• At least 3 years of lathe and mill setup experience.
• 5+ years in a manufacturing environment, with CNC operation experience (Fanuc preferred).
• Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Set up machines, including gauging and chucking equipment.
• Interpret instructions, blueprints, and process specifications.
• Troubleshoot tool failures and work-holding issues.
• Obtain inspection approval before production.
• Perform preventative maintenance and document results.
• Mentor operators and participate in continuous improvement.
