Qualifications

Role Description

The CNC Setup Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Sturgeon Bay, WI. This position is responsible for setting up CNC machines, selecting and installing tooling, and configuring workholding and program parameters according to job specifications. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting blueprints and work orders, performing test runs, adjusting machine settings to ensure accurate dimensions, and inspecting parts to verify quality standards. The technician monitors machine performance, identifies and resolves issues that may affect production, and performs routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment and work areas. Collaboration with production, engineering, and quality teams is required to support efficient workflows, minimize downtime, and maintain a safe and organized shop environment.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues with CNC equipment and production processes.
• Candidates should possess preventive maintenance abilities, including routine inspection, lubrication, and replacement of machine components.
• Candidates should possess instrumentation and calibration skills to set up, verify, and adjust measuring tools, gauges, and machine controls.
• Candidates should possess foundational knowledge of electricity related to machine power, controls, and basic electrical safety.
• Previous experience setting up and operating CNC mills, lathes, or similar equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and measurement specifications.
• Proficiency with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges, and commitment to quality and safety standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship in machining or related field is preferred.
• Capacity to stand for extended periods, handle materials safely, and work effectively in a fast-paced production setting.

Pay $25-$35/hr. depending on skills and experience.
