Job summary

Unknown Manufacturing Company in Elk Grove Village, IL seeks an experienced CNC Programmer & Setup specialist to drive high‑precision machining with multi‑axis CNC machines. You will program from CAD data, set up tooling and fixtures, and work with QA to ensure first‑piece conformity.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of Fanuc CNC experience, Mastercam skills, and a proven track record in tooling design and process improvement.

Qualifications

• - Proficiency with GD&T and interpreting complex drawings.
• - 2-5 years of experience operating, programming, and setting up multi-axis CNC lathes and mills with Fanuc controllers.
• - Ability to design and load tooling, fixtures, and perform tool touch-offs.
• - Experience with first piece inspection and basic troubleshooting of speeds, feeds, and tool wear.
• - Familiarity with coordinating with QA for inspection plans and documentation.

• - Mastercam experience preferred.

CNC Programmer & Setup Requirements & Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience operating, programming, setting up, and maintaining multi-axis CNC lathes and mills with Fanuc controllers
• Ability to interpret customer drawings, including GD&T, parts lists, ECOs, work instructions, and inspection plans
• Proficiency with manual inspection tools such as bore gauges, micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges, thread and pin gauges, microscopes, profilometers, optical comparators, and Rockwell testers
• Ability to design, mount, and load tooling, fixtures, vises, jaws, and perform tool touch-offs
• Experience producing first piece inspection parts and basic troubleshooting of speeds, feeds, work holding, tool selection, and tool wear
• Familiarity with collaboration between production and quality control for inspection plans and documentation
• Competence in training operators on running and inspecting parts
• Mastercam experience preferred

CNC Programmer & Setup Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines safely to produce high-quality parts meeting production targets
• Program parts using existing CAD models and save files according to company procedures
• Design and create work holding fixtures and detailed work order instructions
• Set up tooling, work zeros, and fixtures for first piece part approval with quality control collaboration
• Mentor operators in proper machine operation and inspection documentation
• Report maintenance issues promptly to supervisors or maintenance team
• Document production and inspection data in the ERP system to maintain traceability and quality records
• Identify opportunities for process improvements contributing to quality management system effectiveness
• Follow safety, quality, and foreign object debris (FOD) programs at all times
• Maintain calibrated measuring tools and ensure only calibrated equipment is used
• Keep a clean, organized work area and demonstrate punctuality and a positive attitude
• Work collaboratively within a team environment adhering to company policies and procedures
