Job summary

RiseMe in Boise, Idaho seeks a CNC Set-Up Specialist to prepare jobs for production by setting up a range of CNC machines, loading programs, and confirming readiness before handoff to the operator. You will gather tooling and parts, verify offsets, and ensure 5S standards in a safety-conscious environment.

The role reports to the Production Manager within the Operations department and emphasizes clean work processes, clear communication, and reliable setups across lathes and mills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience.
• Read, analyze and interpret business and technical documents.
• Math skills: proportions, percentages, area, geometry.
• Intermediate computer skills including MS Word/Excel and MRP/ERP software.
• No licenses or certificates required.

Responsibilities

• Gather tooling, fixtures, and parts from the production traveler before setup.
• Set up and changeover CNC equipment including lathes and mills.
• Load and verify CNC programs, revisions, and offsets.
• Install and align tooling per setup documentation; verify fit.
• Run first article/first piece and verify prints before releasing.
• Confirm readiness to run and hand off setup to the operator.
• Communicate tooling shortages or issues to management.
• Assist troubleshooting setup-related issues during runs.
• Maintain organized tooling and a 5S-compliant workspace.
• Basic CNC programming knowledge is helpful but not required.
