Job summary

Emerson Electric Co in Elyria, OH is seeking a CNC Setup Operator to run gear shapers, lathes, mills and grinders, perform tool changes, offsets, and basic program updates, and inspect parts with CMM and gauges. You will load raw material, set up fixtures, and ensure parts meet tolerance.

You’ll train fellow operators, uphold safety, 5S and ISO standards, and contribute to continuous improvement. The role offers a $1 shift differential on some shifts, a strong benefits package, and opportunities

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience operating CNC machines.
• Ability to read gauges and decimals/fractions.
• Outstanding attendance.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Complete job changes on machines, make offsets, and basic program changes.
• Operate at least three machines (gears shapers, lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, saws).
• Identify tool wear and interpret CMM reports; use gauges and recording instruments.
• Load/unload fixtures according to work instructions.
• Change tooling inserts and keep parts within tolerance.
• Train other CNC operators on machine tending and scrap handling.
• Measure work pieces for conformance to specifications.
• Support Safety, 5S, ISO, Lean, Quality, and Machine efforts.
