Job summary

Accounting Search is partnering with a high-tech precision manufacturer in the Big Bend, WI area to recruit a CNC Setup Machinist for the 2nd shift. This direct-hire role features a 4-day work week (Mon–Thu, 3:00 PM–1:30 AM) with a 3-day weekend and a competitive hourly wage up to $33 plus shift premium.

You will independently set up multi-axis CNC mills and turning centers, adjust tooling and offsets, inspect close-tolerance parts, and read blueprints with GD&T. US work authorization required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years professional CNC machining experience with at least 1 year of independent setups on mills or lathes.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret G&M codes; apply GD&T.
• Proficient with precision hand tools and inspection equipment.
• Willing to work permanent 2nd shift: Mon–Thu, 3:00 PM–1:30 AM.
• U.S. Citizenship or Green Card; reside within daily driving distance of Big Bend, WI.

Responsibilities

• Independently set up and operate multi-axis CNC mills and turning centers.
• Manage tooling/offsets, fixtures, and replace tooling to maintain tolerances.
• Inspect close-tolerance parts using micrometers, calipers, comparators, height gauges.
• Interpret blueprints, apply GD&T, and adjust G&M codes.
• Troubleshoot and optimize cell to maintain cycle times.

What You Will Be Doing (Daily Responsibilities)

• Perform Independent Setups: Execute complete, independent machine setups and operations on multi-axis CNC mills and turning centers.
• Tooling & Offsets Management: Adjust tool page offsets, establish work holding fixtures, and replace cutting tooling to maintain tight production tolerances.
• Precision Part Inspection: Inspect close-tolerance components using micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, height gauges, and custom precision tooling.
• Blueprint & Code Execution: Interpret complex engineering blueprints, apply G&M code adjustments, and utilize GD&T principles to ensure full part integrity.
• Troubleshoot & Optimize Cell: Investigate and resolve mechanical or program-related deviations on 2nd shift to optimize cycle times and maintain smooth production flow.
• Maintain Cell Standards: Keep a clean, meticulously organized, safe, and 5S-compliant machining station.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications)

• Machining & Setup Depth: 2+ years of professional CNC machining experience with at least 1 year of independent setups on CNC mills or lathes.
• Technical Literacy: Demonstrated fluency reading blueprints, interpreting G&M codes, and applying GD&T fundamentals.
• Quality Precision: Proficient with precision hand measurement tools, custom gauges, and inspection equipment to verify close-tolerance part features.
