Qualifications

• Experience setting up and operating CNC machines.

• Align and secure holding fixtures and cutting tools.
• Machine parts to specifications using CNC Mills, Lathes, and Grinders.
• Set up and operate basic and advanced machine tools.
• Read gauges and blueprints to ensure accuracy.
• Load parts using hoist and inspect tool wear.

Richardson Manufacturing Company, a machine shop continuing to experience growth after 80 years in business, is seeking CNC Setup Machinists to join their team in Springfield, IL.

If you have experience setting up and operating CNC machines, this is an opportunity you need to explore! The schedule for this position is Monday-Thursday 7:30PM-6AM.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Position and fasten work pieces.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machine.
• Select the appropriate tools and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
• Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, and Grinders.
• Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers, depth micrometers, inside diameter gauges, and outside diameter gauges.
• Read and understand gauging sheets.
• Read and interpret blueprints to ensure parts are being made according to specifications.
• Listen to machine and tooling to ensure machine and tooling are running properly.
• Operate hoist in order to load parts onto machining center, lathe, or mill.
